About me

Murphy is a really fun, loving gentle natured boy who came into our care after he had been living in a multi dog household.

Sadly Murphy seems to have been some-what picked on by the other dogs in the home and due to this he is quiet around dogs he doesn't know. We are looking for Murphy to be the only dog in the home so he feels comfortable and does not have to worry about being picked on, and so he can have all the attention to himself. Out and about Murphy is happy to say a brief hello to other dogs once he feels more at ease. Murphy would benefit from new owners that understand his delicate nature and have had dogs before.

Murphy can be a little worried by new people, especially men, so potential adopters may need to come and meet Murphy a few times, so that he can start to form a bond. He can live with secondary school age children that are used to living with dogs. He will be best in a quiet household.

Being a sight hound Murphy does have quite a prey drive so he would love his own secure garden for off lead play with no cats or small furries in the home and to stay on lead in public areas. He will need a refresher in housetraining and car travel training. As Murphy has not been left on his own before he will need someone based at home and will then need a gradual build up to being left.

Murphy is a typical Whippet who enjoys a walk and a mad burst of energy and then a warm cosy snuggle indoors with his people. He is still a little underweight so for now enjoys wearing a cosy jumper, new owners may need to provide Murphy with a varied wardrobe for the winter months as we believe he was not particularly used to going out much before coming to Millbrook.

If you would like to meet this boy and his fabulous Whippet ears please apply online.

PLEASE NOTE:

Our adoption teams will search through applications to find potential matches that meet all of the animals individual needs. They may contact you to discuss the adoption process and your application in more detail.

Millbrook regrettably is unable to keep a waiting list. However we are able to keep your application for up to 3 months to hopefully try to match you with another animal.
