About me

Gorgeous fluffy Nina arrived at Millbrook as her previous owners couldnt meet her welfare needs. Nina is a typical Akita, a little aloof at times but she will come over for a fuss on her terms especially when she has built a bond. Nina is looking for a home used to large breeds but please research the breed if you have not had Akita's before.

Nina can live with secondary school aged children, possibly a little younger depending on the children's experience with dogs and introductions here at Millbrook. On the lead Nina walks very nicely but can pull a little at times if excited. She has some basic training and enjoys a treat or two. Nina loves to run and play so she will need an enclosed garden with a 5 - 6 foot fence.

Nina is good with other dogs she meets on her walks but can be worried if a dog runs up to her. She is therefore best walked in quieter areas where there are not lots of rude dogs running off lead who are likely to run into her personal space. Our girl needs a quiet life where she can enjoy her walks in peace. She is also best as the only pet in her new home.

Nina may need a quick refresher in housetraining in her new home but as she was clean in her last home we do not feel she will take long. Her previous owners left her for 3 hours with no problems so should be fine being left eventually for short periods, but this will need to be gradually built up as she settles into her new home and routine. She has also shown she is a good traveller in a car.

Due to Nina's fluffy thick coat she will need regular brushing which she quite enjoys.
