About me

King came to us after he was living in a car with 4 other dogs and 5 cats. He was extremely nervous when he came to us and it has taken time for him to become more confident with the people he knows. Once he is bonded with you he is more affectionate, but he is also likes to do his own thing.

King can still be worried by unfamiliar people and can bark at them when worried, so he is looking for a quiet home that will give him the time to come around at his own pace and let him grow in confidence. King is looking for a home that has experience with owning small dogs, ideally nervous dogs. He needs to live in an adult only home as he has no experience of children and due to his shy nature he would be worried by children. As King is nervous, he will need to meet potential adopters a few times, so that he can get to know them before going to his new home.

King likes most dogs, but can be vocal at times, so at this point he would be better as an only dog, but will need sensible continued socialisation with other dogs and may down the line be able to live with a suitable female dog. King is only 1 year old so he will need a home that can give him plenty of exercise. Once a lot more confidence he would also benefit from attending some reward based classes, but that will be down the line once he is more confident with unfamiliar people.

We are not sure if King has lived in a house so he may need housetraining and car travel training. He will also need someone based at home to begin with and then will need a gradual build up to being left. He will also need help with day-to-day life and the noises and movements that happen in a home and when out and about because he does not have much experience with this. As King is nervous he will need to stay on the lead, so will need direct access to his own secure private garden with at least 5ft fencing. King will need to live on a quiet road, that does not have a lot of traffic and people going past. King cannot live with cats.
