Centre update 2024

Our reception and shop will be open Monday/Tuesday from 11am until 3pm.
Closed Wednesday & open again Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday from 11am until 3pm.

During the pandemic we had to review the way we rehomed, and made changes to the process in order to keep rescuing and rehoming animals. The new way of working proved to be remarkably successful, with the return-rates of dogs and cats reducing nationally. The process has also proven to be much quicker, meaning that animals don't have to stay so long once they have been reserved. The animals are calmer, and staff are better able to manage their day, so more quality time is spent with the animals.

Due to the welfare benefits, public access to national domestic and equine centres will remain by appointment only for all animals - this is to meet an animal, not for general viewing. Our available animals can be viewed in the pets section of our website, and the application process is online.

Once we receive your application, if you are a suitable match we will give you a ring for a chat in the first instance. We will then arrange a video call where you can show us your home. This will replace the home visit that we would have carried out before covid. For small animals, we will ask for photos of the accommodation. We also ask for a copy of some ID for all animals to be adopted. For cat, dog and horse adoptions, appointments will be made for you to come and meet the animal. For small animals, only in some instances will we arrange an appointment for you to meet the animal prior to adoption.

Our phone lines are open, 11am to 3pm.

Our emails are checked every day, so please do feel free to contact us: millbrook@rspca.org.uk.

If you have any donations, please drop them off at the centre between 8.30am and 5pm, or leave by our front door if you cannot make these times, please email beforehand to make sure that we can make use of what you wish to bring to us.
